Problem

In this project, I partnered with Nicomas Digitals, an emerging digital marketing agency with a bold ambition to become a leading player in Africa’s digital marketing landscape. Their service offerings span website development, video production, and comprehensive digital marketing solutions.

As a new entrant in a highly competitive market, Nicomas Digitals sought a strong and modern brand identity—one that not only reflects their core mission but also positions them to penetrate a saturated landscape and confidently claim market share.

The primary goals of this rebranding project were to:

  • Increase brand recognition
  • Improve internal alignment and brand understanding

Successfully penetrate 2–3 key market segments post-rebrand

Solution

During the discovery phase, one element they consistently emphasized was their mission to connect businesses with their ideal buyers. This insight became foundational in shaping the brand’s visual language.

As I moved on to crafting the logo, I conducted word-mapping exercises to extract key themes and associations that reflect their values. After several iterations, we landed on a concept they loved—a logo featuring a bicycle chain subtly embedded in the negative space between the letters “C” and “O,” symbolizing connection.

Following the logo approval, I developed a color palette that conveys their vibrant and energetic tone of voice, along with a modern typography system to support brand consistency across touchpoints. In addition I developed cohesive social media assets and marketing collaterals.

Results

  • Stronger Brand Recognition: The new identity gave Nicomas Digitals a distinct and recognizable presence in a saturated market, helping them stand out in early conversations with potential clients.
  • Improved Market Positioning: The brand refresh enabled the company to confidently approach target market segments such as finance, e-commerce, and software development, leading to more focused outreach and clearer messaging.
  • Internal Brand Alignment: The process helped unify the internal team around a shared brand vision, improving how they communicate and present their services.
